winter vaykay

today was the last day of school of the year!! *although i skipped an important class, building foundations and stupid hamada sensei actually gave a pop quiz. on the last day of school who does that?! when kaei msged me at 10:50 (class starts at 10:40) i was still in my futon so i was like DAMN IT but oh well forget it back to sleep grr) but i did go to school for3rd period “shifting boundaries of art” which is frigging interesting but the teacher is kinda scary and will randomly get cranky at us -_- (artists…) but yeah he showed us francis coppola’s koyaanisatsi video today plus some other artsy fartsy albeit a little controversial media art so im glad i went to class. (because i was super contemplating whether or not to skip it too haha this is what winter does to me)

after 3rd period, i went to Mcds for brunch. wanted subway but for some reason it was really crowded with old ladies and i couldn get a seat. then i went to liza’s house for baito (part time job) gave them kids some multiplication sums and i dono why maybe because its their last class for the year too (winter break for elementary school kids too) they got so hyper at the end they started tickling me and u know HOW I HATE BEING TICKLED i nearly wanted to kick them because they were chasing me around the house grabbing my legs and feet but they were too cute so i didnt. hahhaa and also i guess it would hurt them and id get into big trouble.

but kyokosan and liza gave me a big fat christmas bonus!! HOHOHO

my double cheeseburger SS set for 480 yen with cafemocha. this is my 50cm space as described in the video “japan: a strange country” i swear the customers beside me were sitting only 4/5 inches away

was feeling really sleepy (i think i slept too much) and i needed the energy to face the two kids so time for BLENDY CAFE AU LAIT. too sweet. eck 100 yen

then it was 社工飲み会 drinking party with my classmates!

my favs natsuki and nanami

booya. finally get a picture of u, although i think u may have become mr EX-C. mixed feelings maximus. he got a cream puff too i guess because hes O’s boyfriend pfft but it got smashed onto his face by hashimoto

nomikai ended at 8 (too early right) and i really wanted to go to roppongi with aya but she has something in the morning BOOOOOO so i came home early all deflated like a balloon
nvm i shall inflate myself again tmr by doing some christmas shopping!! 🙂

damn it

totally overate again today. when i have an annoying/tough assignment to write i tend to look for food to distract myself. BETCH.

report due in an hour ++

as u can see im procrastinating

just gonna list the things i DEVOURED with no mercy:

1) negitoro don (tuna sashimi on rice) @ school cafeteria
2) 5 packets of balance up biscuits. totalling up to about 1000 kcals
3) 1 slice of cheese
4) 1 banana
5) rice with instant creamy spaghetti sauce

by the way i give the lost symbol a 2/5. what a letdown. it started off quite promising, but after the climax it just started going downhill. WAAAAY downhill

tis the season to be jolly

…and have SHABU SHABU TABEHOUDAI (ALL YOU CAN EAT!!) FALALALALA~ LALALALA~

but today’s food diary picture taking failed. hahaha i didn have time to take any pictures!!

breakfast: measly banana. rushing in the morning AGAIN. but wasnt late for class! peace.

lunch: gobbled a cabbage croquette sandwich from conbini during the last 5 mins of lunch break. didn have time to eat properly because i had to finish the stupid poster for my M&M’s research project.

leftover M&MS! spreading joy to everyone in class kkk. by the end of the day i still had about 50 leftover. gave it to O because turns out it was his birthday today! lol. i also ate about 20 of these babies while giving it out hohoho. and litei gave me and natsuki a caramel donut so we split it.

since we were at shinjuku station west exit and ive been complaining about not having tried godiva so i decided to try their CHOCOLIXIR (how cool is that name, btw) YUMMY BUT SO NOT WORTH 525 YEN. ARK. it was so small. u can tell by the relative size compared to my hands. ok i do have giant man hands. that swell in winter haha T_T

by this time, i was experiencing CHOCOLATE OVERLOAD. YUMMY OVERLOAD.

so we headed for shabushabs!! yaya is so happy because she was craving MEAT. SO WAS I, from said CHOCO OVERLOAD.

and this is us doing what girls do best 🙂

im acting like schools already over but u cant blame me!!! christmas is just around the corrrrrrrneeeeerrrrrrrrrrrr yaya is going back tmr and hopping over to brisbane to celebrate christmas/newyears JEALOUS and aya has no more class boooo and actually i have 3 more reports to submit by thursday shit orz

PS: im at at WADAFAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA MOMENT in the lost symbol right now. SERIOUSLY CANT BELIEVE IT :OOOOOOOOOO

M&M’s Monster

managed to wake up on time like a normal person today! ie not winter coma. and waking up to vanas tweet joke which turned out to be not funny at all -___- hahhahah heart

八宝菜bento. basically a chinese dish with 8 types of ingredients in it mostly vege with pork. 300 yen from the family bento place outside baba station. i wanted エビチリchili prawn but they were sold out! 怒

dinner with amester @ tinun! my charkueyteow for 800 yen. quite tasty but i wouldnt order it again. look at ames tired face teehee

YEAP THOSE ARE M&M’S.
have to do some “experiment” and present a research paper for my english class and the presentation is TMR hahaha damn last minute work so i finally decided on a stupid kindergarden project ie COLOR DISTRIBUTION OF M&Ms kekeke. apparently blue is the most popular color so accordin to M&Ms they try to put more blue into each packet. thats my hypothesis for this “research” and well find out tonight if thats true. ive recorded the stats dy but have converted them to percentage and wtv but i think im gonna disprove the hypothesis because there was this packet with NO BLUE AT ALL )(@!*&$*&^!*(#&!)(@ but yeah it was fun arranging them by colors keke.

AND NO I DIDN EAT ALL OF THEM IN CASE U WERE WONDERING. LOL
(although i did eat most of the blues and oranges (FAV!) which probably accumulated to about 600kcal *facepalm* T_T

i guess the remaining 200 or so pieces would be early christmas presents to a few lucky classmates tmr! 🙂

PS: fav song at the mo. cant get it out of my head! also, its an awesome song to bop along like an idiot too

FREE ENERGY – DREAM CITY

Hey, we’re coming out
Dancing downtown
Free like whatever we dream about
And we’re moving through the night
Cruising across town,
Lost in the endless sound
And the sea’s alright
But the streets are all safe
And you know deep down
You can find a better way
Tired of feeling bad
So don’t you wonder why
You keep telling yourself it’s alright

When the stars are shining on you
When the street lights are far beyond you
When the dream lights are turning on
Then you know where you are
When the stars are shining brighter
When your heart is beating lighter
When you love without desire
Then you know who you are

Hey, we’re coming out!
Kids across town!
Dream like there’s nothing to scream about
And we’re riding through the night
Trying to get around
In love with the electric sound
But it never feels right
And it’s never okay
Cause we know that every night’s gonna end some day
Tired of feeling bad
But don’t you wonder why
You keep telling yourself it’s alright

When the stars are shining on you
When the streetlights are far beyond you
When the dream lights are coming on
Then you know where you are
But the stars are feeling colder
If you believe in what they told you
You get older, and it’s over
Do you know who you are?

great day!

but having a little headache now so im gonna keep the text to a minimal. and i left katherine solomon with the malakh the freaky bastard killer in the abyss in Pod5 so i have to continue reading my last symbol asap lol. goodbye and goodnight

blogger is weird tonight.
*i also had one of debbie’s ebi fry (deep fried prawn) and i didn finish the fruits. too cold. headache
** in case u were wondering my breakfast and dinner were spaghetti meat sauce on rice LOLLL i was too lazy to cook the pasta ;P

a day alone with myself and my thoughts, and… Robert Langdon

chilly Saturday with nothing to do (actually i have tons of hw to complete before winter break but my house is soooo not conducive for work, unless its really urgent, so) so after waking up three times, once at 10.30, then 11.30 then 12.30 i finally gathered the courage to get out of my futon at 1pm haha. had a slow brunch pictured above: mouchans fried rice (quite tasty!) and celery with straw mushrooms sauted with miso. the egg is shaped weird because i had 2. hahaha i couldn fit both sunny side ups on the plate so i had to finish eating one the put the second one on top again. they were cooked perfectly just the way i like it 1/3 cooked 2/3 runny. the green drink is green tea flavoured amway protein shake which i try to take every day

then i decided to go to tokyo metropolitan museum of photography in ebisu. 目が見えない見つめ方[Beyond the Naked Eye]。photos of things that we don usually see with our naked eye. from pictures of space to pictures of red blood cells to the new technology known as super eye that can view objects (and the world) from a certain angle and using crazy calculations which i couldnt understand even though i stood there reading the wall of information for like half an hour lol, something about judging things by depth (reaching distance) and angle and everything is marked as numbers. one particular media artwork which i liked was by this guy called kosaka jun but i cant remember the name of the work!! shit but it was basically a video starting from the big bang (with the subtitle “you are the universe”あなたは宇宙です), then a star is born and grows into a planet and they show u oneliners like “you are soil, let the plants grow”あなたは土です。植物を育てましょう, then after a while it changes to “you are a plant. grow”あなたは植物です。育ちましょう then “you are a consumer, find a plant and consume it”あなたは消費者です。植物を探して消費しましょう。 at this point u actually can control this weirdlooking object with wheels moving along the earth looking for plants to devour then it changes to “you are poop.”あなたはフンです then gradually to “you are a decomposer. find something to decompose”あなたは分解者です。フンを探して分解しましょう。 (here u can control the wheel thing again) then after a few cycles suddenly the sun comes into focus and suddenly i think there was an explosion? or maybe no explosion. but then it says “the universe is finished. You are nothing” 「あなたは無です」
「あなたは無です」
so eerie. but struck a chord somewhere.
so after about an hour at the museum i got out and it was already dark. walked around ebisu garden place enjoying the illumination and there was a live performance going on some girl was singing a christmas song. christmas/year-end joy filled the air, it was almost tangible. everyone looked so happy 🙂
after a while it got too cold so i went into starbucks. wanted to try their limited edition cranberry white mocha but it was sold out (heard it was sold out everywhere, did they run out of cranberry syrup or sth??) so i tried the toffee nut latte (picture above) grande. cost me 510 yen. tasted just like caramel macchiato with some nuts on top. but it was perfect for a cold winters day. wonder why i didnt get the limited edition cute red cup though!! pissed.
i spent 3 hrs in starbucks reading dan brown’s the lost symbol. i know im kinda outdated cos it came out ages ago haha. but funny, i don find myself enjoying robert langdons adventures as much as i did a few years back (the davinci code, angels and demons) maybe becuase his writing style/plots are SOO similar and the “twists” are kinda expected so in a way they arent really “twists” anymore. but nevertheless still a pageturner and got my heart thumping at certain parts. still only halfway done with the book but i have a feeling im gonna finish it really soon

after exiting starbucks at around 8pm i realised i didn have dinner yet. and it was sooo cold so i took the connecting skyway and ended up at atre ebisu (department store) and saw KOBEYA bakery (one of my fav not-high-end-but-not-low-class-bourgeouis-maybe? bakeries) and ordered a slice of もっちりミックスピザ for 420 yen. the bakery itself had a nice atmostphere but i don like how they made their trays blue which gives it a kinda cheap IKEA feel. and blue isnt the most appetizing color…
also, i photographed the empty chair to show how i was eating ALONE. FOREVER ALONE.
hahahha actually i didn mind being alone. theres something about tokyo that makes it feel ok to sit alone and do ur own thing while the whole world whizzes by u and all u can hear are ur own thoughts. (been listening to them the whole day, mostly consisted of christmas songs playing in a loop, dan browns narrative in the sound of my own voice, random thoughts about life and how i ended up in tokyo, brr its cold, and stuff like that, nothing productive lol)
wow in only supposed to upload food pics but ended up writing a lot eh. good job self.
update: told dr don that i was feeling a little under the weather and she advised me to take vitamin C so i ate an orange

project EAT-NORMALLY day#1

didnt manage to wake up early so i skipped breakfast. i really wanted to be on time today and I MADE IT!! entered the classroom a few seconds after koizumi sensei. the first time being on time in these past 2 weeks haha. and it felt great!!
OMG KOIZUMI WAS SO FUNNY TODAY he was criticising architects (cos hes a civ engineer) i couldn catch the name of the architect he was specifically criticising but i think that guys got something to to with, or probably one of the Tokyo Metabolism architects.
so anyway, he was talking about how architects care too much about aesthetics and create random roofs that require impossible calculation of the load distribution etc also theres this guy who proposed an idea to create a MASSIVE HUGE TOWER-CITY on a 16km by 16km square piece of land. its like a mini city complete with houses, schools, hospitals the sorts. i saw something like that at the metabolism exhibition too they called it double helix tower because the building was shaped like a DNA strip but seriously in a way it was really disgusting and scary to think that in the future ppl might actually have to stay in those kinda structures. i wish i wouldn live long enough to go through that haha.
so back to the 16-by-16 square. the architect said that students would descend the tower to the ground for school trips (修学旅行) but koizumi said based on real calculations it would take one month to descend the tower safely without experiencing altitude sickness. one month to descend then another month to go back up
some other architect also had an idea to “solve” the tokyo overpopulation problem by creating artificial land all around tokyo. when confronted with the prob that theres not enough land to do that he suggested SHAVING MT FUJI LOL. 「富士山を切って」and when he was asked how much time the construction a scale that big would require he said 「ざっと計算したら3000年ですね」”about 3000 years” LMAOOOOOO
funny digression but anyway the picture above was my brunch. bento from the place outside building 63. 400 yen for hamburg and tamago and potato salad. i skipped the purple pickles. bentos from this stall is actually not super delicious because the lauk is always too dry/tasteless but i guess its better than bentos loaded with preservatives from conbinis

wanted to go to tinun today for half price thai food but NO FRIENDS. lol thai-food-fanatic litei MIA today she skipped the whole day of school and hashimoto had some meeting thing sigh so i walked home alone and made banana cinnamon oatmeal! ultimate (healthy) comfort food.
